Kenny RobinsonHow did the two of you meet?
We met through friends during summer vacation while still in high school seven years ago!How did the proposal take place?
It started with a romantic evening at a beautiful restaurant called Island Prime in San Diego on the harbor. After dinner we went walking on the pier where Joaquin got down on one knee and proposed! It was beautiful! In what ways have you prepared to make your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?
Joaquin and I both really love jazz and romantic music. So for our Hors d ‘oeuvres hour we played Frank Sinatra and for dinner we played Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It really set a romantic mood! We also really focused on each other and being able to spend a lot of time together so we had an early wedding and a noon reception so we could have the evening to ourselves. It was perfect! We got to our hotel and had dinner in downtown Cincinnati and watched a live jazz performance and just reflected on our day and how wonderful it was! What has been the most challenging experience throughout this process and do you have any advice for future brides?
Well I live in San Diego so planning for everything to take place in Kentucky was the most challenging. I think I spent most of my time having things shipped to and from my house and making sure packages arrived! And of course half of them got caught in snow storms! My advice to all future brides is to stay organized and create a budget and stick to it! Plan out all your ideas and colors and put them on a post it board so you can see your thoughts visually. You can add and take away anytime you need to and to see if there other ideas that may come your way. And, it is okay if you stress the week of. If you snap at anyone just say sorry when your done! How did you go about selecting your vendors?
I went about selecting my vendors by doing lots of research. I collected as many wedding magazines as I could and I was on The Knot.com about 50 times a day. There you could read reviews about vendors in your community or in my case other communities. If you have the opportunity to go to a Bridal Convention, DO IT! You get to meet the people you would most likely be working with if you selected them for a vendor and get a feel for how well they would treat you!View More Featured Weddings:
