Cocktail Hour Piano – Phil DeGregHow did the two of you meet?
We met working together at Great American Insurance Company in Kansas City, MO.How did the proposal take place?
We had a big career decision to make with an offer to relocate to Dallas. With limited time to decide, we thought it would be best to clear our heads and discuss the future over a picnic lunch at Loose Park on the weekend. After a nice picnic lunch and a good discussion about our career future, we decided to take a quick walk around the park. Mike then fittingly observed that this was the first big decision that we were making together about our future, found a nice quiet spot along the park path, got down on one knee and asked Christie to be his wife.In what ways have you prepared to make your wedding day unique and special to the two of you?
We have made it a priority and based a number of our decisions on our desire to visit with our close friends and family as much as possible. Above anything else, it was important to use to celebrate our new marriage with everyone that is special in our lives. It’s easy to get lost in the details and lose sight of why everyone has come to the wedding. What has been the most challenging experience throughout this process and do you have any advice for future brides?
It is impossible to please everyone. You make decisions about the wedding day trying to make sure that everyone has a good time, but no matter what you do, it is important to remember that it’s your day. Most of your guests aren’t going to remember what color your flowers were or what time dinner started, but this is a day that will be special to you for the rest of your lives. How did you go about selecting your vendors?
We selected most of our vendors through recommendations from friends and family. It was important to us that someone had a prior experience with each vendor with a positive result. Other vendors were selected through wedding planning websites such as TheKnot.com.View More Featured Weddings:
